Wales youth international of Ghanaian parentage Ethan Ampadu became the first player born this millennium to represent the club when he came off the bench in the 56th minute for his debut.

England U19 international Dujon Sterling made his maiden appearance for Chelsea’s first team after entering into the fray in the 76th minute of the contest at Stamford Bridge, ten years after joining the club.

Abraham was also proud of the performance of Jake Clarke-Salter, who was part of the Young Lions squad that won the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup, hat-trick hero Michy Batshuayi and Belgium youth-teamer Charly Musonda, who netted on his full debut.
