As many as ten players of Nigerian descent, including Iwobi’s childhood pal Chuba Akpom, have been selected by manager Arsene Wenger in the Gunners squad list submitted to the Premier League before 4pm on September 1.
Seven U21 players of Nigerian parentage are eligible to be fielded by the Frenchman in the English top-flight after the first international break of the 2017-2018 season.
They include England youth-teamers Xavier Amaechi and Tolaji Bola, highly-rated midfielder Folarin Balogun, Aaron Eyoma, James Olayinka, Tobi Omole and Joseph Olowu.
