Jamie Redknapp believes Tottenham have the best XI in Premier League, but isn’t convinced they will win the title.
Spurs haven’t made any signings this transfer window, with seemingly enough strength in each position to better their second-place finish last season.
They have lost Kyle Walker to Manchester City in a £50million deal, while there is still speculation over the future of Danny Rose, but Redknapp claims that on paper they have the best first-team.
That said, the Sky Sports pundit doesn’t believe Spurs have what it takes to clinch the title, and thinks Pep Guardiola’s men will take the crown.
“Tottenham’s squad on paper is a bit thin, but they have the best XI if you like,” said Redknapp, speaking to Sky Sports Super 6 ahead of the £1m jackpot round this Saturday.
“The only XI you can really name, and he knows his best team from last year, apart from Kyle Walker, but [Kieran] Trippier will come in, is Pochettino.
“So for that, I think Tottenham will come really close. What Wembley does to them, only time will tell, I don’t think it should be too much of a problem.
“But the team [who will win the league] that I think when you speak to a lot of the pundits, they would lean towards Man City.”
