Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho does not know if Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic will become his side’s latest acquisition.
United have already spent in excess of £100m to bring in striker Romelu Lukaku and centre-back Victor Lindelöf from Everton and Benfica respectively.
Perisic has strongly been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but when asked by reporters if a deal is close to being concluded, Mourinho was just as in the dark as everyone else.
“No idea. No idea my friend. No idea,” he said, as reported by Goal.
An out-and-out winger, though capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, the 28-year-old Croatian international has three years left on his present Inter deal after joining the Nerazzurri from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015.
Since arriving at Milan, the Split-born forward, has gone on to make 79 appearances under four different managers (including current Crystal Palace head coach Frank de Boer) registering 20 goals and 18 assists in the process.
Compared to Mourinho’s options on the flanks last season – Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard – he comes out on top in terms of goals scored.
Though Mata bests him when it comes to chances created and total passes per 90 minutes whilst Martial is number one regarding successful take ons.
