Real Madrid have announced the signing of highly-rated Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos for £14.5m.
The 20-year-old Spaniard impressed for his country at the Under-21s European Championship, winning Player of the Tournament, and has signed a six-year deal with the La Liga champions.
Real confirmed their new man on the club website and released a statement for supporters.
‘The player will be presented on Thursday, July 20, at 1:00 pm, in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
‘Ceballos will step onto the pitch for the first time in a Real Madrid shirt and will attend a press conference.’
The midfielder signed a six-year deal with Real Madrid and will join his new team-mates
Ceballos is known to be a technical player with the capacity to beat a man to create chances out of nothing. His youth career suffered an early stumble when aged eight he was released from Sevilla with chronic bronchitis.
But the youngster bounced back, joining Betis as a 14-year-old, becoming a regular in 2014 and hasn’t looked back.
Ceballos will now link up with his new Los Blancos team-mates on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are participating in the International Champions Cup against top level opposition including the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City in preparation for the season ahead and defence of last season’s honours.
