BUIES CREEK, N.C. – A program record eight Campbell student-athletes have been named to the 2018 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, announced today by the NFF and College Hall of Fame.
Campbell’s eight honorees surpasses the program’s previous high of five, reached in both 2016 and 2017.
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society list is comprised of student-athletes from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. An all-time high 1,251 players from a record-tying 302 schools qualified for membership in the society’s 12th year.
Campbell finished 2017 at 6-5 overall and 5-3 in its final season of Pioneer Football League play, matching the program’s best overall and conference records in its 10 year history. 2018 will mark Campbell’s first as a member of the Big South Conference in football.
The Camels set 16 team single-season statistical school records in 2017, plus 19 individual single-season marks on the way to their historic season. Additionally, CU set Barker-Lane Stadium records for average, total and single-game attendance for the second straight season.
