World Cup analysis: Nigeria aren’t just fashion icons

Nigeria have the youngest average age at the World Cup, and they impressed during qualifying.

Nigeria are notoriously known for their stunning World Cup kit. Having modeled it for the first time against England at the weekend, they’ll hope the performances get better.

Of course, they certainly have the ability ingrained within the squad. Players like Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses all have what it takes to lead their country to glory.

While they aren’t favorites to win the competition, many are dubbing the African side to exceed expectations this summer.

The group of death?

They will face a hard time in group D, as all four teams in this group can pose a threat. The group contains Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, and of course, Nigeria.

When you consider Iceland’s heroics in EURO 2016, Croatia’s star-studded midfield and, well, Lionel Messi, it can be seen as a group of death.

However, Nigeria have the ability to take on these sides. We mustn’t forget Nigeria have shown impressive performances against Argentina before, with

Alex Iwobi stealing the spotlight.

Iwobi is one of the stars to watch out for at the World Cup. Having endured a lackluster season with Arsenal, this is his opportunity to redeem himself. He got the goal which gave Nigeria hope against England, but it wasn’t to be.
