Hull City lost their second straight game in the EFL Championship on Wednesday night after they were beaten 2-1 by Fulham at Craven Cottage, with three Nigerian players starting the contest.
England U20 World Cup star Fikayo Tomori occupied the right side of central defense for the Tigers, teammate Ola Aina was deployed as a right wing-back and Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo operated from the wings.
The lively Ojo came close for Fulham but he was denied by goalkeeper McGregor, who clawed the ball off his head.
Three minutes before half-time, the Cottagers finally took the lead through Ayite, the Togolese striker was left with the simple task of tapping the ball in after an excellent delivery from Ojo.
Bowen equalized for the visitors in the 53rd minute and Johansen added his name to the score-sheet to restore Fulham’s lead on 62 minutes.
Fikayo Tomori was the left back in a 4-4-2 formation following the introduction of Adama Diomande in the 82nd minute.
The Chelsea loanee was one of the four players nominated for Hull City’s Man of the Match award, thanks to his imperious display on his debut.
