Andreas Pereira insists he isn’t bothered by Jose Mourinho’s criticism and believes the Manchester United manager’s verdict on his loan move to Valencia proves he can still salvage his Old Trafford career.
The Brazil Under-23 international moved to Los Che earlier this month having impressed on loan at Granada last season, against Mourinho’s wishes.
Mourinho had hoped the 21-year-old would stay and fight for a place in his first team squad and branded the decision to return to Spain a naive one.
Reports claim United have the option of recalling Pereira in January, but the talented midfielder insists he has no intention of returning to the Premier League any time soon.
‘It was difficult because they wanted me to stay in Manchester,’ he told Marca.

Andreas Pereira was a personal decision, a decision I don’t agree with, a decision I don’t think honestly is the best decision for him, a decision that disappoints me a little bit because I think he has the potential to be fighting for a position, fighting to for opportunities and to be a Manchester United player,’ said Mourinho.
‘His decision can be considered as a young player who wants to play every weekend but can also be considered a decision as a player that is not ready to fight for something difficult and it’s difficult to play in Manchester United’s midfield.’
‘But for me individually and for the options to play it was better to be here. Because it was better to come to Valencia to play games and help, because at Manchester I had little chance.
‘On the one hand I’m happy because he loves me and I think that if I’m not a good player, I would not have wanted to stay. So I think on the bright side.
‘If I thought negative it might hurt, but for me it’s a good thing.
‘I talked to him before coming here and I want to work hard and stay all year. I’m focused here.
‘I want to be here and help the team all year, but I do not know what United wants in the future.
‘I want to contribute the best and do the best all year in Valencia.’
