Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has tasked the Super Eagles to make the country proud at the forthcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Buhari, in his address to the players and official of the team who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday before their departure to the United Kingdom where they will face England on Saturday, appealed to the team to be aware that they are carrying the emotions of over 180 million Nigerians.
“We have a team that is young and I am confident we will do well,” Buhari said in his address.
“Nigerians are solidly behind you so make us proud by giving your best.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in the group stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
