Former Super Eagles of Nigeria left full back Celestine Babayaro says Leicester City defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi should be the second vice captain of the Super Eagles behind Ahmed Musa.
Presently William Troost-Ekong wears the captain armband for the senior national team of Nigeria in the absence of regular captains John Obi Mikel and Musa.
However Babayaro who played for the Super Eagles from 1996 till 2005 said Ndidi has the leadership qualities more than Ekong as he is a regular performer for the team in almost every game.
” He (Ndidi) hardly play below expectations. Top performance in every game is the stuff of a captain. I really don’t know how he conducts himself off the pitch but on the pitch he deserve to be captain in the absence of Musa”, Babayaro told Sports&study.org.
” I understand with the choice of Mikel and Musa as captains but Ndidi should get the second vice captain role. He is the most consistent player in the team at least in the last one year or so”.
