Spanish giants Sevilla have announced they have reached an agreement with Leicester for the sale of Vicente Iborra for a reported £12m.
Iborra, who played against Leicester in the Champions League last season, has spent the last four years at Sevilla but is now free to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical examination with Craig Shakespeare’s side.
The 29-year-old, who is very similar in playing style to Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, is now set to become Leicester’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Harry Maguire from Hull.
Iborra dropped down the pecking order at Sevilla under Jorge Sampaoli last season and despite making 31 league appearances, only 12 of those were as a starter.
However, no player scored more goals as a substitute in Spain’s top tier last term than the Spaniard (4), while only Ivan Rakitic (8) scored more goals of all central midfielders (Iborra – 7)
