Libya’s Under-23 Team’s Coach Bows to Olympic Eagles

Despite winning the first leg of their Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifier 2-0 last week Wednesday Attiah’s boys could not hold their own in the reverse fixture and fell 4-0, which the coach says was disappointing.

However, the Libyan gaffer submitted that Imama Amapakabo’s squad were the better side on the evening in Asaba, as they pulled out all stops to pull the chestnut out of the fire and put themselves back on course for a spot in the continental showpiece billed for Egypt.

Although Attiah admitted he was hurt by his team’s ouster, after such a promising result in the first leg, he admitted they played a better side, which is why he remains proud of his players and their efforts.
Attiah confessed: “Nigeria deserve to win, but I am proud of my team and their performance.”
