VIRGIL VAN DIJK could still join Liverpool this summer, according to the latest odds.
Van Dijk, 25, appeared to be closing in on a move to Anfield before the Reds were forced to withdraw their interest.
They had to issue an embarrassing apology after being accused of tapping up the Southampton defender.
However Van Dijk has not travelled with Saints for their pre-season training camp in France.
The Dutchman has told new manager Mauricio Pellegrino he still wants to leave St Mary’s.
And BetStars reckon he may well get his wish.
They make Van Dijk odds-on at 1/3 to join Liverpool
BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Long-term Liverpool target Virgil van Dijk looks to be on the verge of signing for the Reds with BetStars pricing the Dutchman at 1/3 to complete a move to Anfield.
“Van Dijk has seen his odds slashed from 4/7 to 1/3 after Liverpool reignited their interest in the Saints centre-back.
“Liverpool are seeking a new defensive rock after a disappointing first year at the club for Ragnar Klavan.
“Van Dijk is keen on a move to Merseyside and could slot in next to Dejan Lovren.
“Chelsea’s interest in the 26-year-old has cooled and the Blues are now priced at 4/1 to sign van Dijk.”
