According to a number of reports in the English media, Premier League side Liverpool will today lodge their third offer for RB Leipzig star man Naby Keita.
Keita, a 22-year-old Guinean international, was in sensational form for Leipzig last season, proving one of the finest midfielders in the German top flight as his side secured a shock second-place finish in the Bundesliga table.
In 32 appearances in all competitions, Keita notched 8 goals and 7 assists, with his all-action performances alerting some of European football’s biggest clubs.
Above all others in the chase for Keita have been Liverpool, with the Merseysiders reportedly desperate to add a top-class midfielder to their ranks this summer ahead of their return to the Champions League.
An opening pair of Reds’ bids have been rebuffed by Leipzig, with the second said to have been worth a staggering £66 million.
Despite Keita’s relative lack of experience at the top level, Jurgen Klopp and co. seem ready to pull out all the stops to secure his signature, with numerous reports claiming that a new offer of £70 million plus is incoming.
The Bundesliga side, who are owned by energy drink company Red Bull, are not lacking in the money department, though it is reported that the slowly increasing value of each Liverpool bid is tempting the club further and further into allowing Keita to move on this summer.
