Sports&study.org can exclusively reveal that captain of the Nigeria U20 team Ikouwem Udoh will in the next few weeks put pen to paper on a five year deal with Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.
Sweden side Malmo were the front runners for his signature but they now appear to be second favorite to land the Enyimba Fc of Aba left full back following the latest offer by Maccabi Haifa.
Maccabi are using ex Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni who is a legend at the club and now head their scouting in Africa to pull the deal through before the player represent Nigeria at the U20 World Youth Championship in Poland.
The initial deal was for Udoh to attend a training camp where he will be assessed for a period of seven to ten days but the club appear to have jettison the idea and will rather offer the one cap Udoh a straight deal in the region of €250,000.
Already both teams have exchanged communication ahead of the deal and there’s the likelihood of the deal happening anytime soon.
