Victor Moses was very pleased that Chelsea started their UEFA Champions League campaign with an excellent 6-0 win over Azerbaijani club Qarabag on Tuesday night, despite his omission from the starting line-up.
Manager Antonio Conte had argued before yesterday’s clash at Stamford Bridge that he had to rotate his squad; he took a decision to cut Moses and handed a home debut to former Torino star Davide Zappacosta.
The Italian right wing-back was among the five scorers for Chelsea on the night, the others being Pedro, Cesar Azpilicueta, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Michy Batshuayi
Moses tweeted on Wednesday afternoon : ”Quality performance last night from the lads and great result to start our Champions League campaign ?? #CFC”.
The Crystal Palace product has been outstanding for club and country so far this season, scoring against Arsenal in the Community Shield and played a key role in Nigeria’s win over Cameroon about two weeks ago.
Victor Moses will resume training with Chelsea on Thursday morning.
