NFF Crisis Delays Golden Eaglets’ MRI Tests

The much-talked about Magnetic Resonant Imagery (MRI) tests for players in the under-17 national team, Golden Eaglets has reportedly been put on hold by ongoing crisis rocking Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Feelers from the Eaglets’ camp in Abuja reveals that the MRI tests meant to ascertain the true ages of the cadet players have been delayed by uncertainty enveloping the NFF leadership.

This is despite the fact that the Eaglets are billed to compete in September during the West African zonal qualifiers that will produce a single nation for the 2019 U17 AFCON in Tanzania.

The zonal qualifier will be staged from September 2 to 14, during which Nigeria will battle the hosts, Niger Republic alongside Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin Republic, Togo and Burkina Faso.

The Eaglets have been flying in test games, but will need to verify the ages of the players that will line out for the competition with MRI scans.

However, the cans are said to have been put on hold, due to the NFF leadership crisis, such that there are still over 60 players at the team’s camp in Abuja.
