Former Enugu Rangers midfielder Obinna Nwobodo has been voted the player of the month at Hungarian side Ujpest for the month of March.
A near perfect season with modest Hungarian side Ujpest and his performances have not gone unnoticed with his recent award as the club’s player of the month.
So far he has played in all of their league games and has had a hand in seven goals with three assists and four goals in the 26 games played so far. In the Europa League qualifiers he played in three games, scoring once with two assists as well.
Sports&study.org can exclusively report that Swiss side FC Basel have officially contacted his representatives over a summer move but the 22 year old want to wait until the end of the season before making his decision.
MLS side New York Red Bulls also contacted his representatives over a potential summer deal with the club’s sporting director keen on watching the former Nigeria U20 midfielder live in Hungary soon.
Ujpest have resigned to losing Nwobodo in the summer after two seasons at the club where he is teammate to two other Nigerians in Theophilus Solomon and Vincent Onovo.
