Kelechi Nwakali loan deal from Arsenal to the B team of Portuguese side FC Porto appears to have come to a premature end with six games left to play in the Portuguese second division.
Nwakali is still in Nigeria since playing for the U23s of Nigeria on the 25th of March in an U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers tie where he supplied one assist as Nigeria beat Libya 4-0 to progress to the next round on a 4-2 aggregate score.
Sources close to the player revealed visa problem is behind his stay in Nigeria and the chances of resolving it is solely in the hands of the officials of the Portuguese Embassy in Nigeria.
So far he has missed four games due to the issue and with six games left to play in the Portuguese second division where Porto B are seventh on the long standing, he could end up not playing in any of the games.
He hasn’t enjoyed the best of time in Portugal with Porto B as he has failed to progress to the first team as expected which made the club to turn down the option of signing him permanently as agreed in his loan deal.
The playmaker confirmed he will be returning to Arsenal where he has two years left on his contract before a decision on his next career move will be taken in conjunction with the club.
