Three Nigeria Players Tipped to Represent English Clubs in Europe Next season

The UEFA Champions League and Europa League are played this week with some Nigerian players in action in the Europa.

Izuchukwu Okosi attempts to answer the question regarding which Nigerian players are likely to be signed by top English sides expected to participate in both competitions next season.

  1. Henry Onyekuru

Currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasary, Henry Onyekuru is primarily a player of Everton.

The Merseysiders in the 11th place in the log may have been wobbling at the moment but they still possess a team capable of finishing in the top seven should favourites for the seventh spot, Wolverhampton Wanderers, currently in seventh position with 44 points, falter.

Onyekuru with 11 goals in 23 league games may have impressed sufficiently enough in Turkey to convince Marco Silva (if he stays on as head coach) that he deserves to be part of the Toffees next season.

    2. Wilfred Ndidi

widely regarded as the best tackler of the ball in the English top flight Ndidi’s performances for Leicester City continues to receive rave reviews. The Nigerian international has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool in the past and such suggestions cannot be sneered at. The transfer speculations may continue in the summer especially with a good AFCON tournament in Egypt.

The midfielder has produced some outstanding moments which clearly shows that he has completely surpassed expectations when the Foxes bought him as replacement for Chelsea’s N’golo Kante.

    3. Moses Simon

this might come as a controversial choice but some of the top six or seven clubs might want to scout for bargain buys this summer.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur (both usually unwilling to splash the cash in the transfer window) could gun for such rather cheap options but Simon’s performances since his return from injury suggests that he could stir a  few interests should form and fitness not be issues.
