As part of their preparations for the return leg of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers game against Libya, the U23 team of Nigeria had a full training session with four of the players drafted from the Super Eagles taking part.
As exclusively reported by this portal, four players namely Valentine Ozornwafor, Chidozie Awaziem, Francis Uzoho and Victor Osimhen were seconded to the team to help them overcome the 0-2 deficit they suffered in the first leg.
Ahead of the game on Monday, the quartet were in training with the team with the duo of Ozornwafor and Awaziem excelling as the central defense pair alongside John Lazarus and Ebube Duru who were played as right and left full back respectively.
While they were very impressive, same can’t be said about Uzoho who fumbled a simple cross onto his part with the goal post coming to his rescue. Uzoho whose error led to the only goal scored by Seychelles in the 1-3 loss they suffered against Nigeria didn’t look quite comfortable.
There was no such concern for Osimhen in attack with his partnership with Samuel Chukwueze one of the top highlight of the session as they combined to score three goals against goalkeeper Olawale Oremade with Osimhen scoring twice.
